builder & tinkerer — cars, firearms, printers, infrastructure
Hi, I'm Jake, a veteran, builder, and perpetual tinkerer who's most at home when something's apart on a workbench.
I served in the U.S. Navy as an Information Technician, which gave me an early foundation in networks and systems that I've never really stopped building on. These days I channel that into homelabbing. This site runs on hardware I spec'd, racked, and configured myself, from the RAID array to the Cloudflare tunnel you're connecting through right now.
By day I work as a field technician for industrial large-format 3D printers, covering remote support, on-site installs, maintenance, and customer training. By night I'm wrenching on my Toyota MR2 AW11 project car, tending a hydroponics setup, and studying engineering at community college.
I'm also a licensed firearm holder with a serious interest in firearms, building and modifying them with the same approach I bring to everything else: take it apart and figure out how it works.
This portfolio is a living record of the things I build.
